Being a one man army has it’s distinct advantages and disadvantages. The person you talk to on the phone about your order is the person who is designing your piece, who is also the person printing your piece on press. Knowing and working on the entire process allows me the ultimate in quality control. Each letterpress impression I make is truly “hand made”. I love what I do, and it shows in my work. Crisp, beautiful prints, time and time again. Sure I’ll never be able to print 5000 letterpress pieces cost effectively, but I’m ok with that. I print on a beautiful 8x12 C&P Letterpress, dated 1889.

I love letterpress and I will make sure you do too. Your lettepress job will make you happy everytime you look at it. As a one man operation I keep my overhead low, and pass that savings onto my customers by offering great prices and free custom design on all our letterpress printing. You weren’t cut from a template, and neither is my artwork. You tell me your vision, and I make it happen.

Please know that certain designs work best on a letterpress. Line art, vector, simple 2-3 color artwork works best. Halftone images (normal pictures) do not work well. Normal pictures can be converted into simple multicolor artwork fairly easily though. We will discuss this and some other letterpress specific things at the start of your project.

Letterpress is an old printing process. My letterpress was built in 1889. Because of this, each piece that I print will be slightly different and unique. Very small variations in color, impression and overal position are common in letterpress. Using todays modern techniques these differences are hardly noticable, and they tend to make each print unique and beautiful.

I print on 100% Cotton Crane Lettra Paper, 110 or 220lb. French Paper also makes some great sheets of paper as well.
